EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST CLOSING SOON FOR VIVID MUSIC 2021
Expressions of Interest for Vivid Music 2021 close on Friday 26 February.
This is the last chance for musicians, producers, music promoters and venues to register their interest to be part of Australia’s largest event, Vivid Sydney, returning for its 12th year in 2021 from 6 to 28 August.
In past years, Vivid Music has attracted headline acts such as The Cure, Ruel, FKA Twigs, Boy George, Wendy Matthews, Sampa the Great and Florence and the Machine performing live at iconic Sydney venues including Sydney Opera House, Carriageworks, City Recital Hall and The Seymour Centre as part of the program.
NSW Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said: “Vivid Sydney is our state’s flagship event, and it gives local artists, venues and our live-music industry a fantastic stage to showcase their work. Sydney is globally recognised as a city of colour, culture and creativity as a result of events like Vivid Sydney, so I would encourage industry members to register their interest to be part of this spectacular program now.”
More than 110,000 people attended a Vivid Music performance in 2019. The Vivid Music program included more than 243 events across 32 venues and was promoted to a significant domestic and global audience.
Vivid Music curator, Stephen Ferris, said that Vivid Music is an incredible event for musicians and Sydney’s night time economy, as well as festival audiences. “Vivid Music shines a global spotlight on Sydney’s nightlife, providing locals and visitors with a diverse array of experiences. It gives venues and artists a platform to be heard, seen, and experienced by new audiences and play in venues they might not. These artists and venues are guaranteed success which is seen in the ticket sales year after year. Meanwhile locals and visitors alike have a great reason to get back out in the city to discover new musical acts, talents, and venues,” Ferris said.
