Spotlight on The Buckleys
Rising country stars The Buckleys hail from regional New South Wales (Byron Bay), and have spent the better part of the last six years making strides in Australia and in the United States. Performing at festivals and venues like The Bluebird Cafe, Music City Roots Festival in Nashville, and Bluesfest in front of tens of thousands of people, the trio have also had their songs and talents broadcast on major television networks here and in the States to thousands more.
They have co-written with Grammy award-winning hit songwriters, and performed alongside Jim Lauderdale, James T from American Blues Band Canned Heat, and Bill Chambers.
Made up of siblings Sarah (20), Lachlan (18) and Molly (17), The Buckleys have experienced significant success since launching in late 2019, and before even releasing an album. Their debut single Daydream topped ARIA’s Country airplay charts; they have over 600,000 streams on Spotify, and their documentary Meet the Buckleys was recently released on YouTube. They signed up to Petrol Records and Universal Music Group – Petrol being owned by the former INXS manager Chris Murphy, who saw great prospects for the trio.
The siblings grew up surrounded by music. Their father, Mick Buckley, is a recording artist who began his career in the 1980s as a member of the Platinum-selling Australian rock band, The Radiators.
The Buckleys have just released the official video for their second worldwide single ‘Breathe.’ The track is available now via Petrol Records/Universal Music Australia/UMe and follows the acclaimed group’s global debut with ‘Money.’
Because the Covid-19 pandemic interrupted plans for a tour, The Buckleys, in conjunction with Live Nation, came up with the idea of a remarkable and groundbreaking virtual world tour. It saw the group become one of the first to achieve a “virtual reach” of more than four million viewers. The band scored a virtual reach of 4 million in dates across North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Their most recent virtual performance was to India where approximately 497,000 tuned in to watch them perform.
Combining an energetic blend of Country, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Soul and Pop. The Buckleys provide honest storytelling with a fresh, dynamic and exciting blend of influences that capture their youthful and electrifying energy. They are sure to be one of the acts to watch in the future.
