Australian Open (AO) Live Stage 2020 announcement

British superstar Fatboy Slim and Australian stars Thelma Plum and G Flip have been announced as the final acts for the AO Live Stage at Australian Open 2020.

Fatboy Slim will play a DJ set at the AO Live Stage at the Middle Terrace of Birrarung Marr on January 26 on Australia Day.

He joins five other major international acts including  Example (UK), Billy Idol (UK), Max Frost (USA) and Broods (NZ) in the most diverse line up for the AO Live Stage in the history of the Australian Open.

Plum, one of the country’s most prominent indigenous artists and breakthrough performer and multi instrumentalist extraordinaire G Flip, will play a solo performance at the AO Live Stage on Tuesday 21 January, the second day of the Australian Open 2020.

Presented in association with Mushroom Events, the AO Live Stage has become an important part of Australia’s biggest sporting event.

“It’s going to be an incredible 15 days of music and the AO Live Stage will just compliment what is going to be a once in a generation Australian Open,” Australian Open CEO Craig Tiley said.

For more than two decades Fatboy Slim has had a huge following in Australia, and his addition to the AO Live Stage is a real coup for the tournament.

He is celebrating 20 years since the release of his world-wide smash hit ‘Right Here Right Now’.

“To have Fatboy Slim play on the AO Live Stage on Australia Day is such a huge plus for the Australian Open, keeping up with the tradition of an incredible and varied line-up,” Mushroom Events CEO Michael Gudinski said.  “He is an iconic artist who has such a huge fan base in Australia, it’s sure to be a huge day.”

Once again the massive shade structure will be back on the Middle Terrace making the AO Live Stage extremely fan friendly.  The popular giant misting fans will also be back.

To access the AO Live Stage, all music and tennis fans need is an Australian Open Ground Pass ($49) or a stadium ticket.
