The Park set to be picture perfect for the Melbourne Cup Carnival
An all-new selection of Melbourne’s hottest foodie destinations will pop up in The Park this Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington Racecourse.
Racegoers’ taste buds will be in for a treat with the gastronomic line-up including Pinchy’s, Slider Diner, Son In Law, Duke Pizza and Agathé Pâtisserie.
The fantastic foodie line-up will feature fresh and sustainably-sourced seafood from Pinchy’s, serving up authentic Maine-style lobster rolls and fries with truffle salt that are equal parts fancy and fun; while Thai-inspired Son in Law plays on the imagination with cartoon painted bao buns and colossal fairy floss bound to make you smile; as well as swoon-worthy croissants and French pastries, both sweet and savoury, from ‘Melbourne’s Croissant Queen’ Agathe Kerr at Agathé Pâtisserie.
Duke Pizza will deliver delectable New York-style slices topped with the freshest ingredients including locally crafted Italian-style cheese, while Slider Diner offers racegoers mouth-watering locally-sourced burgers sized perfectly to eat with ease as you peruse The Park.
Victoria Racing Club (VRC) Executive General Manager Customer Engagement Caroline Ralphsmith said The Park will again be a top destination for fans of tasty eats.
“As always The Park will be a culinary haven featuring some of Melbourne’s favourite foodie destinations,” Ms Ralphsmith said. “Racegoers will be spoilt for choice with an array of sumptuous offerings from pop-ups by the best in the business including buttery croissants to start the day from Agathé Pâtisserie and delicious Duke Pizza to keep you satiated throughout the day. There’s something for everyone in The Park – the place to indulge in the city’s best food and beverages this Melbourne Cup Carnival.”
Adding to the culinary experience, The Park boasts a stellar line-up of refreshing beverage offerings.
Make your way to the Seppelt Prosecco Bar for a Prosecco Spritz and a quick photo opp in their social media hub, or get ahead of the curve and stop by Lion’s new brand activation, featuring a new style of alcoholic drink set to be revealed in October. You can also take a step back in time and slide into a pastel-hued booth at the retro diner-themed Pony Bar, complete with 1950s-inspired cocktails.
Enjoy a premium artisan roasted coffee from the Grinders Coffee Retro Caravan aka Short Black, a refreshing ale from the Furphy Beer Garden, or a cocktail garnished to perfection from Lillet at The Park, racegoers will have no trouble finding the perfect beverage accompaniment to their snacks.
And when it comes to play, The Park has something for everyone with epic activations from the VRC’s official sponsors. For the first time racegoers can experience the Myer Glam Bar offering express hair styling, a brow beauty bar and bespoke cocktails. Situated next to the iconic Myer Fashions on the Field enclosure, there’s a barber for the fellas too, along with great gift giveaways and styling tips.
In the Bumble Arcade you can show your competitive side on the giant claw machine, have a shot at basketball or challenge your friends to a quick round of air hockey for your chance to win some exclusive Bumble merchandise in their game room. Not feeling competitive? Relax in Bumble’s lounge area and get acquainted with those around you!
The amusement continues at the Network 10 Carousel, their custom built carousel made to create all your most Insta-worthy moments, and an elegant Lexus photo opportunity will ensure you and your friends experience amazing this Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The Park’s boundless colour and excitement makes it one of the most visited destinations on course, with more than 30,000 racegoers streaming through the arches every year since its introduction in 2016.
Located on the hill, adjacent to the train station, Ms Ralpsmith said it’s a must-visit destination for foodies, fashionistas, music lovers and punters alike. “The beautifully curated Park experience aims to bring people together to celebrate the best fashion, food, hospitality, entertainment and event styling that Melbourne has to offer,” she said. It’s where you can dance in the daylight to performances by Australia’s hottest musicians, indulge in delicious bites from Melbourne’s trendiest eateries, embrace the joy of dressing up for Myer Fashions on the Field, delight in playful spaces and sit back with sips in stylish bars. Best of all, entry to The Park is free with your Melbourne Cup Carnival ticket.”
