UNIFY GATHERING 2020
Tarwin Lower is set to dial it up once again with the sixth instalment of Australia’s only heavy music camping festival, UNIFY Gathering 2020 and the stacked line-up is finally here!
Take a team of international talent, two hugely anticipated returns, a bunch of home-grown heroes, a host of amazing up and coming Australian acts, sprinkle it with a dose of nostalgia and serve it up with a community of like-minded souls and you’ve got yourself one monumental weekend.
Ready to get the ground shaking from January 9 to 12…
ARCHITECTS · THE GHOST INSIDE – NORTHLANE · POLARIS ·
ANTAGONIST AD · KNOCKED LOOSE · TIRED LION · KUBLAI KHAN TX · THE BEAUTIFUL MONUMENT · EAT YOUR HEART OUT · BETWEEN YOU AND ME · THE BRAVE · DIAMOND CONSTRUCT · COLUMBUS · TAPESTRY · SLEEP TALK · CAGED EXISTENCE · SOMETHING SOMETHING EXPLOSION
Critically acclaimed and celebrated as one of the most influential acts in the world right now, Architects will visit regional Victoria off the back of their incredibly raw and inspired album, Holy Hell, which peaked at #8 on the ARIA charts. Architects’ Friday night headliner set marks the very last stop of their colossal world tour. Punters will bear witness to the strength of the band as they belt out their distinctive vocals and powerful riffs for their only Australian show this summer. If their 2018 UNIFY set is anything to go by, this is going to be monumental.
And that’s not the only set sure to bring a tear to the eye as Saturday night headliner The Ghost Inside make the journey down under for the first time since 2014, exclusively for UNIFY. Rising from the ashes with their triumphant return to the stage after a tragic road accident in 2015, The Ghost Inside truly are limitless and unbreakable. The band performed for the first time since the accident in July this year, at Shrine in their home town of LA. The show sold over 8000 tickets in just an hour – proving their status as one of the most adored and admired bands of their generation. UNIFY is proud to play host to their second show in four years, inspiring fans with their relentless triumph over tragedy and phenomenal live performance.
Two of the biggest Australian metalcore exports around will also be playing return sets at UNIFY in 2020! Following the August release of their fifth studio album and their current US tour, Northlane are easily one of the most hyped bands coming out of the country right now. And returning to UNIFY for the third time is Polaris. The Sydney siders are touted as one of the most exciting live acts in the Aussie heavy music scene – and for very good reason.
Fresh to the UNFD roster and off the back of their new single Burn It Down, emo icons Silverstein will deliver their explosive anthemic choruses and dynamic sounds, marking the 20th year of their impressive career as post-hardcore pioneers at a must see and exclusive Australian set. And making a return from their 12-month absence from the stage for an exclusive UNIFY Gathering performance, Tonight Alive will be joined on stage for some mystery collaborations with some of their famous friends. Keep your ears peeled for this one!
Round these off with an impressive who’s who of extraordinary international acts, some of our best home-grown outfits PLUS more bands to be added on Thursday and Sunday, and you’ve got yourself one killer weekend set in the sprawling pastures of Tarwin Meadows in the magical fields of Tarwin Lower, South Gippsland.
With native Australian bush on one side and stunning views of hills on the other you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery as you’re catapulted into heavy music lover’s heaven and served much more than just the tantalising tunes.
Early Access pass holders will kick the party off early on Thursday night with the official UNIFY Pre Party, coordinated with AM//PM. This is a night sound tracked by your old high school i-Pod Nano, with the full lineup for Thursday to be announced. And when throwing down has got you beat you can check out the Campsite Hub, featuring panels & workshops featuring some of your favourite artists.
Round off your weekend with acoustic renditions of your most beloved tracks at the UNIFY Sunday Sessions, as some of your favourite acts guide you back into the real world with unplugged and stripped-back sounds from the festival’s massive bill, keep an eye out for the line-up!
UNIFY Gathering is dedicated to protecting the environment on which UNIFY is held. On Sunday, 25 August UNIFY Gathering hosted its first ever Tree Planting Project with over 40 festival fans stopping by to plant over 2,000 Indigenous trees around the events beautiful home.
UNIFY Gathering is a proud supporter of YOUR CHOICE, a music industry supported campaign initiated to address the growing cultural issues around behaviour and lack of personal accountability within Australian venues and event spaces. For more information, head to your-choice.net.au.
