EP Release: Asha Jefferies – Hold Yourself Together
Brisbane emergent Asha Jefferies is thrilled to share new single and accompanying music video ‘If You Were My Hero’. It comes on the eve of the forthcoming release of her debut EP ‘Hold Yourself Together’ on February 1.
Along with the new single, Asha’s debut EP Hold Yourself Together will see a culmination of years of hard work from a young artist, constantly writing and releasing with accolades building steadily. The six-track EP – Hold Yourself Together – delivers a clear snapshot of period in time in Asha’s life. Single ‘Chaos’ kicked off the cycle in early ’18 and garnered immense love from triple j Unearthed and community radio while being shortlisted for Vanda & Young’s Songwriting Competition and winning an Unearthed/NIDA competition to create a music video. ‘Everybody Talks’ came next and was immediately added to full triple j rotation the same week she would play her first performances at BIGSOUND, instantly making her an essential artist to catch at the annual conference.
The EP was recorded over the space of 12 months or so and features musicianship of Asha’s live band and the production of local Simon Nelson, LA-based Miro Mackie, Demetry Malahoff and Asha herself. These six songs work effortlessly as a perfectly-rounded EP and a huge promise of what’s to come from the mind of Asha, who has already begun writing her debut album.
