2018 VRC Melbourne Cup Carnival – Birdcage Preview
Media were given an early look at the Birdcage set-up of marquees for this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival. Having taken over as the Cup race sponsor Lexus unveiled a sharp and stylish two-storey marquee that offers a great view of the track, plus showcasing a sample of its quality food service. Tabcorp also shows off a terrific track view and lots of betting facilities (obviously).
The good thing is the new breed of companies offering their treats and services by hosting marquees, such as Bumble, Pace Development, Ultra Australia, Furphy and Crocmedia. They will add new blood that replaces some tired ones of the past.
Kennedy, as the Oaks race sponsor, is set to establish itself again and owner James Kennedy and his wife Jaimee Belle will be on hand to entertain guests.
G.H.Mumm is set to provide another highlight with its large rocket that marks the first champagne that can be drunk in zero gravity.
Pictures from the preview.
