Research has revealed one in four Australians surveyed are allergic to wound care plasters and 85.2% of Australians surveyed claimed that they would choose a natural alternative to wound care. Introducing, PATCH Strips, the world’s first organic, hypoallergenic and biodegradable wound care solution.
PATCH Strips use natural and sustainable resources that are historically proven to soothe symptoms whilst promoting recovery for the most sensitive skin types.
When father-of-two and PATCH founder, James Dutton discovered his son, Charlie, had an allergic reaction to an adhesive bandage, he quickly realised that there was a gap in the market and his son was not alone.
“What began as a need for my young son, has now expanded to a worldwide venture. PATCH is made from the most premium and sustainable ingredients to provide an hypoallergenic and biodegradable solution to wound care, including the natural goodness of activated charcoal, aloe vera and coconut oil embedded in the gauze,” said James Dutton, PATCH Chief Executive Officer.
Made from organic bamboo fibre PATCH strips have been documented in a video to break down into the soil in a matter of weeks as the product is made sustainably from bamboo and manufactured close to the source where the bamboo is grown. Mr Dutton added, “Our PATCH strips are compostable with our packaging having a minimal environmental impact”
PATCH strips has been recognised as the ABA100 Winner across three categories including Product Excellence, Eco-Innovation and Product Innovation in The Australian Brand Awards 2018.
“PATCH has shaken up the traditional wound care market. Winning awards across three categories provides us with further motivation to push boundaries with natural wound care and we strive to create innovations that offer quality, natural and sustainable alternatives,” said Mr Dutton.
Each year the ABA100 Winners are recognised for their commitment to business and product innovation and for their achievements in transforming business practices and end-user experiences.
