Variety salutes Sir Elton John
How do you celebrate a career as illustrious as that of the great Sir Elton John? With a star-studded concert, of course. Variety – the Children’s Charity are thrilled to have assembled 20 of Australia’s finest singers to pay homage to the living legend as Variety salutes Sir Elton John, for the 2018 Variety Rocks fundraiser.
Expect to hear all his hits, performed with a star-studded backing band, with lots of surprises thrown in, this is a one-off event! This is the only time you have the opportunity to experience all of your favourite Elton John classics and support Variety – the Children’s Charity. Rocket Man, I’m still standing, Blue Eyes and Tiny Dancer will be performed with truly Australian flavour as each artist take to the stage to pay tribute to a man who had 58 Top 40 hits, sold more than 300 million records and was the voice of a generation.
We are pleased to announce a stellar line up of artists. Australian icon Tim Freedman, country superstar, Adam Brand along with huge names iOTA, Monica Trapaga, Brydon Stace, John Paul Young, Doug Parkinson, Chris Ninni, Jeff Duff, Damien Leith, Mark Williams, Mitch Anderson, Sharon O’Neill, Guy Delandro, Melanie Dyer and Jacinta Guilisano from The Voice. With more artists to be added to the sensational line up soon.
Variety – the Children’s Charity believes all Aussie kids deserve a fair go in life. This is why they support kids who have a disability, chronic illness, who are facing geographic isolation, financial hardship or require critical care. In conjunction with Empire Touring, Variety – the Children’s Charity hopes to raise much needed funds to help Aussie kids in need.
“Variety has a long history of support from the entertainment industry and we look forward to continuing that wonderful heritage with Variety salutes Elton John this September,” Variety NSW/ACT CEO David Sexton said. “We have an incredible line up of artists who will light up the Enmore Theatre for a night of great entertainment and fundraising to help give Aussie kids a fair go in life.”
Funds raised will go towards granting kids the necessary equipment and experiences, giving scholarships, running programs, providing support services and holding kids’ events.
