Miss World Australia 2018 – Victorian State Final
Deborah Miller, National Director of Miss World Australia, invited media and guests to the 2018 Victorian State Final of the Miss World Australia pageant. Keen competition throughout the preliminaries saw 25 young ladies vie for 5 National Final spots at the Gold Coast in August.
Held at the picturesque Carousel Bar and Cafe in Albert Park, many of the girls had parents and friends to support their quest and then paraded several times before the judging panel and also having to answer a topical question. 5 lucky girls were chosen to represent Victoria at the National Crowning Ceremony – this year to be held at Palazzo Versace on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
The five to progress to the National Final are: (left to right below) Vanessa Ong, Huda Omar, Joanne Longland, Maria Esipova and Nyadier Apech. The five finalists will also travel to the Maldives and Dubai later this year. The final also demonstrates that the multicultural interest in girls entering the pageant side has extended beyond expectations and it has been fully embraced. The standard is getting better each year.
